I was cleaning up some folders on an older computer of mine and I came across a whole bunch of jpgs of artwork by Nene Thomas and Ruth Thompson. I used to clip images of their artwork out of the "Dancing Dragon" mail order catalog (which no longer exists; more's the pity) and the more general fantasy catalog that was related to it. I always thought the figures from their work would make awesome character sketches for gaming characters. But as I was cleaning these file folders up, it occurred to me that they often include elements that you can't get as a character until you are quite advanced (miniature dragon, wolf, or large cat familiars, dragon mounts, etc.) if at all. I think it would be rather cool to either build or modify an RPG around these images... maybe some day I'll get around to that.
